Fernando

Yesterday we sketched an amazing model, Fernando from Brazil. He’s a dancer and practices also Capoeira. He performed some very difficult ‘up side down pretzel’ poses! I still need to work on those sketches… Here 2 of the more simple ones. One with charcoal and one with charcoal pencil.

Laura

Wednesday evening Laura was our model. She works at a famous Dutch museum, very interesting! In the second image I tried to sketch just a detail with charcoal and charcoal pencil and in the last one I only used charcoal, trying to make no lines. Just ‘painting’ with the side of the charcoal stick and wiping with my finger. That’s a total different experience…

Chandana

This morning we had a live drawing session with lovely Chandana as our model. Lately I’m really not content with my work so I didn’t post for a while, but I keep practicing, searching. Here’s one of the drawings (15 min), just posting this mainly to push myself, I think. Her hand is somewhat strange, should have worked more on the mudra that she made.
